8:00 PM "The State of Conversational AI" with Mariya Yao
Conversation design is powerful because it gives the user a direct path to find what they are looking for. In this presentation, Chris will teach you key design principles to consider when designing a conversational interface for a car. He'll show you how to navigate the user, keep their attention, and repurpose design patterns for consistency and clarity.
The term "conversational interfaces" is thrown around a lot these days, but what does it actually mean? Will we soon be having conversations with everything around us, like our toothbrushes and trash cans? What's the difference between a chatbot and a VUI? How do we build these highly interactive systems in the right way?
This talk will tell you what Conversation Design is and some of the best practices to make sure we get it right.
Mariya Yao will give you a technical overview & review of current state-of-the-art deep learning & NLP tactics for chatbots and conversational interfaces. You'll aso learn about product UX / design tips for crafting customer experiences around current limitations in conversational AI.
Mariya will cover recent research papers, metrics and lessons from live products, and also a review of conversational AI platforms available for enterprise usage. The target audience is product leaders, technical executives, and designers and developers involved in the crafting of customer-facing conversational experiences.
